I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Rochester (UR). I am also affiliated with the Goergen Institute of Data Science. My research focuses on data mining and machine learning, especially on graphs, for social good. Prior to joining UR, I received my Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), where I am lucky to be advised by Dr. Hanghang Tong.

To prospective students: I am always looking for highly motivated students to join my research group or work with me as summer interns. If you are interested in working with me, please send me an email with your CV and a brief introduction of yourself (e.g., your background, past experiences, and research interests). Please use the title [Term Year] Your Name: PhD Application for your email (e.g., [Fall 2025] Jane Doe: PhD Application).

NOTE: Unfortunately, due to the large amount of emails, I won't be able to reply to them all.
